Cruger takes yearly classes on being more service oriented and better helping clients. Prior to launching a career in real estate,
Cruger worked in advertising for large agencies and was an administrator for a copywriter. Those experiences fed her creative side.
“For me, I’ve always had a creative aspect of myself,” she said.
A keen listener, Cruger treats her clients like family.
“I really feel like I’m very hands on and very much take it as if it was my son or daughter buying a house,” she said.
When working with buyers, Cruger, who primary serves the greater Danbury area with emphasis in Brookfield, Newtown and Bethel, starts with a buyer’s counseling session to make sure they’re preapproved and know what their budget is. She alerts them to what they need to do and gives them a buyer’s packet for guidance on what to expect when purchasing a home.
Cruger assesses their needs and wants and sets expectations, explaining they probably won’t get 100 percent of their wants, but will likely get 80 percent. She asks for their top 10 list, saying they should specify must haves versus items they are willing to set aside.
With sellers, she tours the home to see what it has to offer, including what updates and improvements they have done that have added value. Cruger determines their end goals and timeline and completes a market analysis, comparing similar properties and inventory to determine the market value.
She also has a knack for working with seniors.
“I do really like seniors,” she said. “It’s really hard for them to pull that trigger because they’ve been in that home for so long.”
Cruger is married with two children aged 21 and 23, who are the lights of her life.
